Cybercrime in India: Your Legal Remedies
Cybercrime is a growing threat. I regularly assist clients with online fraud, identity theft, cyberstalking, and cryptocurrency scam cases. The good news is – you have remedies.
Who Should Approach Me?
If you’ve been harassed online, lost money via fake investment apps, or been a victim of hacking or extortion, speak to me before you respond emotionally or delete evidence.
What Are the Legal Remedies?
1. Register a Cyber Complaint:
Either online at https://cybercrime.gov.in or directly at a local Cyber Cell. I help you draft a complaint with technical and legal accuracy.
2. Lodge an FIR:
If financial or reputational harm has occurred, I’ll assist you in getting an FIR registered under IPC and IT Act provisions.
3. Preserve Digital Evidence:
Emails, screenshots, bank transactions, phone logs – preserve them all. I help clients document everything for prosecution and restitution.
Example:
A business owner’s email was hacked, leading to a false invoice scam. I coordinated with the cyber cell and filed a case under IT Act Section 66C and IPC 420. The amount was eventually recovered.
What I Do:
From evidence collection to court representation, I provide end-to-end support. In crypto frauds, I also engage blockchain forensic investigators where needed.
